Us protectorates что это

I’ve been trying to buy something on Ebay and all the auctions I have seen had in red that they do not ship to US Protectorates.

This is not the first time, but lately it is happening more. Why?

Shipping to Puerto Rico is still domestic shipping like shipping to the 48 States, same process.

I was looking for this topic here and I saw that someone said that they didn’t want to be «ripped off», so what is he trying to say?.

If I sell something to someone in NY, IL, AL (as an example) it can happen the same, but for that there is the delivery confirmation that it is included when you send by First Class or priority mail.

I really would like to know why are sellers blocking US Protectorates- Hawaii, Alaska and PR?f

Sellers who ship via USPS should not be blocking P.O. Boxes, US Protectorates, PR, HI or AK, but new sellers see these blocks and just follow suit.

Sellers who only ship via UPS or Fed Ex ground have reasons to block buyers in those destinations because either they need a physical street address, or it would be prohibitively expensive to ship to those places.

DisneyShopper hit it on the head. I am a seller and I only ship UPS/FedEx and when I offer FREE shipping, I lose money on the sale if I ship to PR. There is no other way around it, I have tried. I would love to be able to offer my products to Puerto Rico, Alaska and Hawaii but shipping is too high and eBay wont allow you to create 2 listings of the same product; 1 FREE shipping and 1 that charges for shipping. I am not afraid of being scammed because that can happen with any sale.

I’ve always sold to PR and never had a single problem with any sale. I love my PR buyers, they often message me to say thanks too.

Sorry you want to buy something that you can’t, that would be very frustrating!

I really would like to know why are sellers blocking US Protectorates- Hawaii, Alaska and PR?

Alaska and Hawaii are NOT protectorates, they are STATES, just like California, New Jersey, Illinois and the other 45 states of the Union.

All protectorates, which are either US Territories or independant countries that have very close ties to the US, are served by the USPS. If your item can go by air, there’s little reason to block any protectorate.

I’m talking about Puerto Rico. At the end I included Hawaii and Alaska because the sellers always block them too.

Puerto Rico has been a US Territory for 120 years and is part of the USA. They have USPS for their mail delivery. Their people are US Citizens, who can vote in US Presidental elections. Puerto Rico can, if they want, petition Congress to become the 51st State.

Protectorates are mostly small island countries that the US became responsible for during or after WWII. They are small independent countries that the US provides international mail service via the USPS and also provides military protection, because these small islands can not protect themselves from being taken over by a Pacific Region communist controlled country to be bases for invading larger countries in the South Pacific such as the Philippines Islands or Australia.
